Updates Regarding Student Davoris Carter III
Delta School is heartbroken over the recent loss of student Davoris Carter III. As we navigate this difficult time, we continue to hold Davoris, his family, and every member of our school community in our thoughts and prayers.
We recognize many students, families, and staff members are grieving. Free support services are available to all members of our Delta School community. These services will be available for three months and can be scheduled at your convenience. For a list of providers or assistance, please contact the school at 215-632-5904.
For more than 60 years, Delta School has been a trusted provider of education and support services for children with diverse needs. We take that responsibility seriously. At this time, law enforcement, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and Delta School are conducting investigations. We are fully cooperating with each of these efforts and remain committed to transparency. As appropriate information becomes available, we will share updates with our school community.
The Delta School Celebrates its 68th Anniversary in 2026
In the mid 1950’s, a young mother of a child with social, emotional and learning disabilities, disheartened with the available education programs, met with three prominent professionals in the field of education. From that contact grew what is today the Delta School.
For 68 years, the program has provided not only excellence in education, but has been dedicated to what is now known as addressing the needs of the “whole child.”
Although the special education curriculum has evolved over 68 years, the original concept of teaching the whole child in a welcoming environment remains the principal tenant of the Delta School program.
