Extended School Year (ESY)
Delta School offers an Extended School Year program to ensure continuity of educational services. This program is not only available to Delta students, but to students at other schools who are deemed eligible by their Local Education Agency.
Delta School ESY curriculum focuses on ensuring that students maintain the skills that are at risk of regression. In addition, the coursework helps students with severe disabilities meet the goals that are essential to their continued education program. Eligibility for ESY is based on an annual meeting of the IEP team which includes the student's teachers, related service providers, parents and a local education agency representative.
Delta School’s Extended School Year program begins during the first week of July. This eight week session runs Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. Student and community activities are organized to complement the academics and create a well-rounded summer learning experience.
